The Emerging Leaders cohort program has been designed to grow leaders who will promote ISTA’s presence as a strong force in Indiana. Within this program, participants will identify individual strengths, build communication skills, and develop habits that will allow them to take risks without fear of failure. Emphasis will be placed on creating a cohort that includes teachers and education support professionals.
ISTA EMERGING LEADERS COHORT
The Emerging Leaders Cohort program is focused on developing leadership qualities and building confidence in those who participate. Emphasis will be placed on building a diverse cohort class that includes ISTA members from across the state. The cohort is open to both teachers and education support professionals (ESPs) who are ISTA members. Building a network is a crucial component to this program. Each session will begin with a team building activity that is followed by a full day of leadership training. Periodic Zoom check-ins are possible. Attendance at other ISTA events is strongly recommended. Active members interested in applying must commit to participate in both Cohort I and II to complete the program.
Program Cost
ISTA covers hotels, meals, team-building activities and other materials. Members or their local are responsible for transportation.

Cohort I:
Deadline to apply: November 22, 2024
Focus: Leadership Development – Participants in Cohort 1 will be challenged to identify individuals strengths and weaknesses, define your leadership style, build communication skills, and develop habits and skills that allow them to take risks without fear of failure.
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION
• Interest or involvement in the state and local Association
• Minimum of three years of work experience in the education field as a teacher or Education Support Professional (ESP)
• Has not, and does not currently, hold the position of local association president
